Nicholson Original is a quality spirit infused with a unique family recipe that masterfully blends ten botanicals to deliver the perfect finish that defines the London Dry gin experience. Juniper led, with citrus notes of coriander and a touch of spice. This is a complex gin with a long, dry, balanced finish ideal with cocktails and tonic.

Nicholson & cricket
Cricket has been part of Nicholson history for over 150 years. It all started in 1860s when William Nicholson, first class cricketer for the MCC, Middlesex and England, loaned the MCC the funds to purchase the freehold of Lord’s Ground, thereby saving the future of the Club and the home of cricket for future generations. He later funded the construction of the pavilion that stands today, affectionately known at the time as ‘The Gin Palace’.

History has it that to mark William Nicholson’s generosity the MCC changed their colours to the famous yellow and red (‘egg & bacon’) instantly recognisable across the sporting world and which were and are the colours of Nicholson Gin.

About Nicholson Gin
Our distinguished heritage can be traced back to 1736 when our family began distilling gin in Clerkenwell. From 1808 we were known as J&W Nicholson & Co and went on to become one of the great spirit producers of Victorian England

The Nicholson distilling process was one of experimentation, innovation, and relentless refinement. With the introduction of the famous Coffey still in the 1840’s and availability of exotic botanicals from around the globe, we became a pioneer of, the London Dry Gin style.
