The 2016 Le Mission Haut Brion is a blend of 57.5% Merlot and 42.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, picked between September 19 and October 14, one of the longest harvest ever. "We had to be patient and wait on every parcel," said Jean-Philippe Delmas. It took longer than normal but the weather was great so everything could be picked at the most ideal moment and this makes the 2016 Mission Haut Brion one of the most beautiful vintages ever with a score of 98-100 Parker points.
The wine has incredible precision with a medium to full-bodied taste with smooth and soft tannins and great acidity. As the Wine Advocate say, every atom is infused with great freshness. It is a wine with an incredible focus and definition. The 2015 The Mission Haut-Brion was thought to flirt with perfection, but the 2016 beats it again. The wine is deep garnet-purple in color and unfolds in the glass with tones of black currants, black cherries, dark chocolate, violets, tobacco leaf, forest floor and a hint of bergamot
