This is a fabulous wine that offers layers of flavors that range from exotic spices, rose petals and violets to blackberries and fresh herbs. The cool April allowed the grapes to ripen slowly retaining their freshness. A delicate, detailed red blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Carmenere, 11% Malbec, 8% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. 14% alcohol." yr. 2013 Jeannie Cho Lee:96 of 100 Points."Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Sena, Aconcagua Valley, Chile" from the vintage 2013 on 01.04.2016 with 96 of 100 points."A gorgeous, complex Sena that is only just showing some of its potential. A complete, savory, deep Sena with dark berry flavors that are laced with spices, savory herbs and velvety tannins. Long finish. One of the best Sena vintages." yr. 2012 Jeannie Cho Lee:95 of 100 Points."Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Sena, Aconcagua Valley, Chile" from the vintage 2012 on 01.04.2016 with 95 of 100 points."Vibrant, layered and quite accessible now even in its youth, this vintage of Sena shows the direction towards precision and finesse that Sena is headed. Cedar, savory herbs and spices mingle with firm, ripe tannins with a wonderful lingering finish." yr. 1996 Jeannie Cho Lee:94 of 100 Points."Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Sena, Aconcagua Valley, Chile" from the vintage 1996 on 01.04.2016 with 94 of 100 points."A subtle, layered, elegant wine that is fully mature with sweet floral perfume. The palate is complex, generous and after 20 years it is seamless. The wine keeps changing in the glass - from dried jasmine flowers to violets, cassis and sweet spices. Long finish." yr. 1997 Jeannie Cho Lee:97 of 100 Points."Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Sena, Aconcagua Valley, Chile" from the vintage 1997 on 01.11.2015 with 97 of 100 points."This wine was tasted blind and I was struck by its wonderful balance and complex layers of flavors. I didn, t care where it was from, the wine was clearly skillfully blended from a great site with layers of cedar, spices, cassis and seductively ripe tannins. Long finish. A wine to savor now but should age well over the next decade or longer." yr. 2010 Jeannie Cho Lee:95 of 100 Points."Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Sena, Aconcagua Valley, Chile" from the vintage 2010 on 01.03.2015 with 95 of 100 points."I have always been a fan of this vintage of Sena and tasting it at 5 years old, it does not disappoint. Layers of black tea leaves, mixed brambleberries, violets, subtle earthy notes and savory spices are just some of the flavors found in this wine. Complex, intense and very long on the finish." yr. 2009 Jeannie Cho Lee:93 of 100 Points."Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Sena, Aconcagua Valley, Chile" from the vintage 2009 on 01.03.2015 with 93 of 100 points."This vintage is opening up and becoming more complex with time in bottle - find layers of savory spices, herbs, black tea leaves and cigarbox notes. Balanced flavors supported by ripe, firm tannins. A lovely vintage for Sena that is drinking well now." yr. 2007 Jeannie Cho Lee:91 of 100 Points."Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Sena, Aconcagua Valley, Chile" from the vintage 2007 on 01.03.2015 with 91 of 100 points."A deeply colored, full bodied vintage for Sena with layers of cocoa, plums and ripe black currants. There is a warmth and generosity here from a warm vintage that displays more fruit than usual for Sena. Enjoy now and over the next ten years." yr. 2000 Jeannie Cho Lee:94 of 100 Points."Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Sena, Aconcagua Valley, Chile" from the vintage 2000 on 28.05.2014 with 94 of 100 points."Elegant Sena from a cool vintage. Drinking beautifully now with great finesse. 77% Cabernet in the blend with approachable, soft tannins and refined flavors. Lovely wine to enjoy now. Tasted in: Hong Kong, China. Maturity: Drink." yr. 2011 Jeannie Cho Lee:94 of 100 Points."Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Sena, Aconcagua Valley, Chile" from the vintage 2011 on 28.05.2014 with 94 of 100 points."Beautiful, refined Sena from a cool vintage. Much less Cabernet dominant that in the past, this vintage has only 50% (versus 70%+ in the past). The 15% Carnenere adds a wonderful spicy element. Long finish with great potential to age for a few decades easily. Enjoy in about 6-7 years time. Tasted in: Hong Kong, China. Maturity: Young." yr. 1995 Jeannie Cho Lee:90 of 100 Points."Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Sena, Aconcagua Valley, Chile" from the vintage 1995 on 28.05.2014 with 90 of 100 points."Elegant Cabernet-driven Sena, the first vintage, which is holding up nicely. Showing leather, sweet spice and herbal notes. Aged in barriques for 14 months. Drink now, just starting to fade. Tasted in: Hong Kong, China. Maturity: Drink." yr. 2008 Jeannie Cho Lee:95 of 100 Points."Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Sena, Aconcagua Valley, Chile" from the vintage 2008 on 01.11.2012 with 95 of 100 points."Restrained and elegant and not trying to prove anything. A graceful wine with fine edges, velvety smooth with layers of complex fruit and a very long finish. A fabulous wine that pulls you in. Challenging vintage with efforts to control the ripeness. Tasted in: Santiago, Chile. Maturity: Drink." yr. 2006 Jeannie Cho Lee:94 of 100 Points."Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Sena, Aconcagua Valley, Chile" from the vintage 2006 on 01.11.2012 with 94 of 100 points."Lovely flavours of spices, leather and blackcurrant. A gorgeous wine that is exuberant and confident. It is beautifully composed and long in the finish. Still young with a very long life ahead. One of Sena, s top vintages - fairly cool during the growing season and then warm during harvest. Tasted in: Santiago, Chile. Maturity: Drink." yr. 2001 Jeannie Cho Lee:94 of 100 Points."Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Sena, Aconcagua Valley, Chile" from the vintage 2001 on 01.11.2012 with 94 of 100 points."Well composed wine with all the right elements of drinking pleasure - generous, exotic, layered fruit with long finish. Sweet spices like nutmeg mingle with blackberry fruit and firm tannins. The wine is still young and has a long way to go. Gorgeous Sena - no wonder it won in so many blind tasting against the top wines of the world. Tasted in: Santiago, Chile. Maturity: Drink." yr. 1998 Jeannie Cho Lee:92 of 100 Points."Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Sena, Aconcagua Valley, Chile" from the vintage 1998 on 01.11.2012 with 92 of 100 points."Lovely evolved flavours of dried Chinese red dates, cedar, spice and plums. Very sweet fruit notes on the nose and the palate with firm tannins to support it. Very youthful and still intense. Dominated in this vintage by the Cabernet but it is showing well and this wine has the potential to age. A cool vintage that shows the elegance of Sena. Tasted in: Santiago, Chile. Maturity: Drink." yr. 2002 Jeannie Cho Lee:92 of 100 Points."Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Sena, Aconcagua Valley, Chile" from the vintage 2002 on 01.11.2012 with 92 of 100 points."An elegant wine that is not as intense as the 2001 but the wine shows roundness, balance and good depth of flavours. Fairly long finish and still very youthful. Tasted in: Santiago, Chile. Maturity: Drink." yr. 2005 Jeannie Cho Lee:92 of 100 Points."Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Sena, Aconcagua Valley, Chile" from the vintage 2005 on 01.11.2012 with 92 of 100 points."Elegant, well integrated oak although flavours and oak are still slightly disjointed and not melded together that well at the moment. The wine is incredibly youthful. This is a powerful vintage of Sena that has a long aging potential. Fairly long finish. Tasted in: Santiago, Chile. Maturity: Drink." yr. 2003 Jeannie Cho Lee:91 of 100 Points."Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Sena, Aconcagua Valley, Chile" from the vintage 2003 on 01.11.2012 with 91 of 100 points."A lovely nose of classic, aged, mature Bordeaux filled with cigar, cedar and tobacco notes. Soft, round and firm with a large proportion of Merlot in this vintage at 40% with 52% Cab and 6% Carmenere. Very warm year produced broad expression. Tasted in: Santiago, Chile. Maturity: Drink." yr. 2004 Jeannie Cho Lee:88 of 100 Points."Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Sena, Aconcagua Valley, Chile" from the vintage 2004 on 01.11.2012 with 88 of 100 points."Ripe plum and sweet spices with cedar notes in the finish. Dominated by sweet, ripe fruits and blackberry and blueberry flavours in the mid palate. The finish is of oak rather than of fruit which is a bit disturbing. Not one of the most impressive Sena vintages. Tasted in: Santiago, Chile. Maturity: Drink." yr. 1999 Jeannie Cho Lee:87 of 100 Points."Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Sena, Aconcagua Valley, Chile" from the vintage 1999 on 01.11.2012 with 87 of 100 points."Ripe plum and simple red fruit driven Sena. This wine lacks the depth and spicy notes along with the layers in most vintages of Sena. The 16% Merlot in this vintage comes through and it adds too much plumminess and broadness in the blend. Missing the spiciness of Carmenere and the backbone and depth of great Cabernet. A disappointing Sena. Tasted in: Santiago, Chile. Komplex und saftig, dunkelbeerig und extraktsüß, präsente, wohlintegrierte, tragende Tannine, gute Frische, stoffiger Abgang, mineralisch." yr. 2012 Falstaff:93 of 100 Points."Falstaff" has rated the wine "Sena" from the vintage 2012 on 01.02.2017 with 93 of 100 points."Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, breitere Randaufhellung. Angenehme Edelholzwürze, rotbeeriges Konfit, zart nach Nougat und kandierte Orangenzesten. Saftig, elegante Textur, mittlere Komplexität, reife Kirschenfrucht, feine, runde Tannine, extraktsüße Nuancen im Abgang, bleibt haften, wirkt bereits gut antrinkbar, verfügt über Entwicklungspotenzial." yr. 1996 Tom Cannavan:94 of 100 Points."Tom Cannavan" has rated the wine "Sena" from the vintage 1996 on 01.01.2016 with 94 of 100 points."(2016) 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Carmenere. This was before Seña had its own vineyard, so was a selection of Errazuriz fruit. Showing plenty of age with a broad tobacco rim. Big bloody and animal nose, real Margaux-like perfume with floral notes and iron oxide minerality. The palate has lovely firmness at its core, a juicy orange cut of acidity, and that bloody ripe fruit character. Some fudge And mushrooms truffle notes and great length. A very convincing Bordeaux blend that has aged beautifully." yr. 2011 Tom Cannavan:94 of 100 Points."Tom Cannavan" has rated the wine "Sena" from the vintage 2011 on 01.01.2016 with 94 of 100 points."(2016) 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Carmenere, 15% merlot, 7% petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc. 22 months in barrel, 75% new. Slightly higher, with a little elegant volatile note, graphite and pencil-shavings, the fruit just a little more lifted ? slightly cooler, slightly less new oak? It is juicier and really fresh, a tarty cherry sourness adding to the sweet mid palate fruit to give this balance and polish. Long and really a terrific wine." yr. 2013 Tom Cannavan:94 of 100 Points."Tom Cannavan" has rated the wine "Sena" from the vintage 2013 on 01.01.2016 with 94 of 100 points."(2016) 58% Caberent Sauvignon, 15% Carmenrere, 12% Malbec, 10% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. 22 months in French oak, 75% new. Such a bold, solid colour. A little less developed obviously, a little tighter, but a similar overall character to the 2011, with that little graphite and floral lift and the very compact, quite muscular dense fruit concentration. Lots of sweetness on the mid palate, a really juicy but luscious black fruit confiture, the tangy acid edge and bittersweetness of cherry and plum skins coming through, finishing with a touch of spice and the juicy fruit, the oak so subtley underpinning. Note price is ex-duty and VAT." yr. 2009 Tom Cannavan:92 of 100 Points."Tom Cannavan" has rated the wine "Sena" from the vintage 2009 on 01.01.2016 with 92 of 100 points."(2016) 54% Caberenet Sauvignon, 21% Carmenere, 16% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc, aged in new French oak for 22 months. Lovely softening rim, the colour just a touch pink on the rim. Very attractive nose. There is a pronounced oak influence, quite fragrant but with smoky vanilla, cedar, very good fruit, cassis and depth. Not too big, tempered by savoury orange acidity and fine but grippy tannins, a chewy density, some umami richness and savouriness. Long and well balanced, perhaps a smidgeon too much oak apparent." yr. 2008 Falstaff:94 of 100 Points."Falstaff" has rated the wine "Sena" from the vintage 2008 on 01.03.2013 with 94 of 100 points."Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. (91 - 8. Rang)" yr. 2008 Tom Cannavan:92 of 100 Points."Tom Cannavan" has rated the wine "Sena" from the vintage 2008 on 01.01.2013 with 92 of 100 points."(2013) Very dark, and very powerful and dramatic on the nose. It is expressive, perhaps a touch resinous with plenty of oak showing. The palate is meaty and powerful, but there, s a lovely core of fruit ripeness. Big wine, seems quite high in alcohol (fruity but with a bit of heat), but that sweetness really surges through the finish. Could be Californian or Australian, but might well be Chilean too." yr. 2006 Falstaff:94 of 100 Points."Falstaff" has rated the wine "Sena" from the vintage 2006 on 01.10.2012 with 94 of 100 points."Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, dezente Randaufhellung. Intensives Bukett nach dunklen Beeren, Lakritze, Cassis, süße Gewürze, feine ätherische Anklänge, ein Hauch von Zedernholz. Kraftvoll, komplex, stoffige dunkle Frucht, herrliche Extraktsüße, feste Tannine, reife Herzkirschen im Abgang, zart nach Minze, schokoladig und" yr. 2006 Tom Cannavan:94 of 100 Points."Tom Cannavan" has rated the wine "Sena" from the vintage 2006 on 01.01.2010 with 94 of 100 points."(2010) Aconcagua fruit for this wine now solely owned by Errazuriz (originally a joint venture with Mondavi). Cabernet Sauvignon with 16% Merlot, 13% Petit Verdot, 10% Carmenère and 6% Cabernet Franc. A subtle, understated nose, with cedar and polished old wood notes, subtle spice and a refined Cabernet fruitiness. There is a touch of racy and herbal, balsamic quality, with such pure, cool, purity to the fruit. It has delightful fruit sweetness, but the silky, chocolaty tannins and pin-point acidity bring this to a very fine point in the finish. Much softer and more subtle than the Don Maximiano, but fabulous quality." yr. 1999 Tom Cannavan:93 of 100 Points."Tom Cannavan" has rated the wine "Sena" from the vintage 1999 on 01.01.2004 with 93 of 100 points."(2004) Probably the highest profile wine in Chile, s armoury, Seña is the elegantly-packaged trophy wine made in collaboration between Eduardo Chadwick or Errazuriz and Robert Mondavi. 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot and 8% Carmenère, this too comes from the Aconcagua Valley. After a long maceration it spent 18 months in French oak, 56% of which was new. The nose has a wonderfully polished sheen of minty blackcurrant and black cherry, with a little gamy, animal note and some earthy, truffle aromas. The oak is sweet and custardy, but quite subdued, sitting beneath the fruit. On the palate it has a medium-bodied sense of finesse, with plenty of richness and warming flavours of coffee, spice and tobacco, but a great core of concentrated black fruit with a liquorice edge dominates. Quite severe at present, with firm, grippy tannins and good acidity matched against that solid black fruit, this will mellow over the next few years. A beautifully balanced and very impressive wine." yr. 2018 Tim Atkin:97 of 100 Points."Tim Atkin" has rated the wine "Sena" from the vintage 2018 on 01.01.2021 with 97 of 100 points. yr. 2018 Robert Parker The Wine Advocate:98 of 100 Points."Robert Parker The Wine Advocate" has rated the wine "Sena" from the vintage 2018 on 01.09.2020 with 98 of 100 points. yr. 2017 Wine Spectator:94 of 100 Points."Wine Spectator" has rated the wine "Sena" from the vintage 2017 on 01.05.2020 with 94 of 100 points. yr. 2017 Robert Parker The Wine Advocate:96 of 100 Points."Robert Parker The Wine Advocate" has rated the wine "Sena" from the vintage 2017 on 01.02.2020 with 96 of 100 points. yr. 2017 Tim Atkin:96 of 100 Points."Tim Atkin" has rated the wine "Sena" from the vintage 2017 on 01.01.2020 with 96 of 100 points. yr. 2016 Wine Spectator:95 of 100 Points."Wine Spectator" has rated the wine "Sena" from the vintage 2016 on 01.07.2019 with 95 of 100 points. yr. 2016 Tim Atkin:94 of 100 Points."Tim Atkin" has rated the wine "Sena" from the vintage 2016 on 01.12.2018 with 94 of 100 points. yr. 2016 Robert Parker The Wine Advocate:97 of 100 Points."Robert Parker The Wine Advocate" has rated the wine "Sena" from the vintage 2016 on 01.11.2018 with 97 of 100 points. yr. 2015 Tim Atkin:96 of 100 Points."Tim Atkin" has rated the wine "Sena" from the vintage 2015 on 01.01.2018 with 96 of 100 points.
