Graham's Port Wine House was founded in 1820 and is one of the most traditional port wine houses in the world.
This port wine from 2003, stands for an excellent harvest in the Douro Valley and the year of the centenary of aviation (1903-2003).
Peter and Charles Symington, Graham's father and son, selected the best wines of the vintage, some of which were to be bottled as Vintage Port. While a further selection of the best lots was intended for long-term ageing in aged oak barrels, to be released later as Colheita Port, wines from a single harvest ("colheita" means "harvest" in Portuguese).
When Peter retired in 2009, Charles succeeded him as head winemaker and taster. After closely following the development of the wines, he decided to continue the ageing of the 2003 wines in wooden barrels.Tasting notes:Deep red purple in the glass. Soft caramel aromas with hints of vanilla and toffee on the nose. Full-bodied, creamy and sensual on the palate with aromas of red fruits and jam.
Grape varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, TintaRoriz and Tinta Amarel
Acidity: 4,34 g/l.
This wine goes well with chocolate, caramel or vanilla desserts.
Best served slightly chilled.
