Albert Bacon Blanton is the forefather of the distillery. Today, Blanton or the Buffalo Trace Distillery has 144 buildings and is one of the largest distilleries anywhere. This handcrafted Kentucky whiskey is issued in limited bottles and was once reserved only for ambassadors, Blanton family dignitaries and their friends. Blanton's are always pure in nature and never blended. Barrel data is written by hand on the label. Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon Black Label is aged for 8 years in freshly charred American oak barrels. It is made from Buffalo Trace high rye corn, rye and barley malt mash. Tasting notes:Color: Bright amber. Nose: Sweet, fruity, notes of caramel, vanilla, juicy apples, cherries. Taste: Rich, full-bodied, notes of vanilla, cherries, apples. Finish: Long lasting.
