Tanqueray

Tanqueray is a famous brand of English gin that is sold all over the world. Although its origin is in England, nowadays it is produced in Scotland. Tanqueray is a pure "London dry" and its recipe is a closely guarded secret - currently only four people in the world know its secret formula - although it is known to contain four plants (juniper, coriander, angelica root and licorice). Gin Tanqueray was first distilled in 1830 by Charles Tanqueray in the Bloomsbury neighborhood of London. The Edward & Charles Tanqueray & Co outlet was established in Vine Street in 1838. When Charles died in 1868, his son Charles Waugh Tanqueray inherited the distillery, which continued to operate until it was severely damaged during the Second World War and the distillery moved to Scotland. From 1951 it began to be sold in its famous green bottle, which, in addition to being the favorite gin in the heyday of cocktails in the United States (Frank Sinatra and Sammy Daves Júnior said it was their favourite), became one of the best-selling drinks in the world, a position it maintains to this day. To serve a Gin Tonic with Tankray, add lemon and/or orange and some peppercorns! Silver Medal - International Spirits Challenge 2016
