Manzoni Bianco is a crossing of Riesling and Pinot Bianco dating back to the 1930's. A beautifully balanced and delicate wine but at the same time full-bodied, this Animaversa 'Anima (Soul) and the name of the hill Versa is a selection of the best Manzoni Bianco grapes Monteversa produce. Low yields on Volcanic rocks, Monteversa are making wines bursting with fruit concentration and intrigue.

About the Producer

Having made their fortune in architecture, the Voltazza father and son team purchased this beautiful property 6 years ago and studied the vineyard. They want, quite simply to make the best, cleanest wine possible. The natural yield of these soils and the vines is a very low yield of 24 hectolitres per hectare making the wine up to twice as concentrated as some of the most expensive wines in Bordeaux. 

Taste

Animaversa Manzoni displays citrusy aromas and tropical notes of mango and ginger. Hints of jasmine and lavender are enriched by a flinty undertone that complete the bouquet. Palate is bright and citrusy. Notes of elderflowers and slightly candied orange peel are gentle and persistent, with a mineral component that promises to evolve beautifully.
