Il Palagio is a wine estate located near the medieval town of Figline Valdarno that is known as the 'Florence farm'. They owe this nickname to the abundance of corn that used to be there. Message in a Bottle is the famous song of Sting / The Police and they have made a very appropriate wine at Il Palogio (the wine domain of Sting) where the sampling should not be mentioned. The white Message in a Bottle Vino Spumante Brut is a wonderfully fresh, fruity and special sparkling wine from the Sting vineyards. The wine is extremely elegant with a beautiful refined mousse. The Spumante consists for the most part of vermentino supplemented with 15% chardonnay where the Chardonnay has had a short wood maturation. In the nose citrus, acacia, plum and apple. Flavors of young, fresh fruit and breadcrumbs. Tastes great as an aperitif but also very tasty with various fish dishes.
