Félix Solís Avantis is one of the largest family wineries in Spain and was founded in 1952 in the DO Valdepeñas, long the main road to Madrid. The winery was established at the time with the most modern and extensive production facilities. Over the years, it has expanded to a production area of 120,000 m2. They make wines under many famous labels, such as Casa Albali and San Juan.
"The Kingpin rules his realm with firm authority. He is lured out of the shadows by the seductive charms of this wine. Behind his frenzied power, the Kingpin also proves to be very laid-back. In this wine, the Kingpin finds its equal."
The Solís Kingpin Tinto is a Spanish fresh red wine and is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Tempranillo from vineyards in Castilla-La Mancha. The grapes ferment for about 10-14 days in stainless steel tanks, at a controlled temperature. The wine is aged for 3 months in American oak barrels. In the glass the wine has a ruby red color with beautiful aromas of berries, cherries, ripe plums in the nose. The wine is very accessible, not too heavy and deliciously fruity and juicy with lots of fruit and notes of vanilla and chocolate. Delicious as a standalone glass (we like to drink this wine around 15-16 degrees, so fraction cooler). The wine is also recommended with lamb dishes, cheeses and especially blue cheeses.
