Bodegas Enima is located in the Ribera del Duero and is part of the Gruppo Matarromera as they have a winery with Melior in the Rueda and with Carlos Moro (CM) a wine house in the Rioja and of course with Bodegas Matarromera located on the golden mile in the Ribera Del Duero. Carlos Moro wanted to make a new type of wine in two of the most important wine-growing areas of his birthplace, the Spanish region of Castile and León. Carlos, now president of Bodegas Familiares Matarromera, started sketching his plan for Emina in the late nineties. In 2005 he built the modern winery Emina Ribera next to the historic monastery of Santa María de Valbuena, on the banks of the Douro River. In 2007 he built the Emina Rueda winery close to Medina del Campo; both wineries are less than an hour from Valladolid and less than two hours from Madrid.

Emina is Latin for 'loved' and a hemina was the amount of alcohol that monks were allowed to consume one day. The name Emina embodies a true passion for the world of wine. The brand respects both the present and the past and at the same time is very proud of the innovative view on research and technological implementation. This is reflected in several projects that are carried out by winery together with the University in sustainable business. If you are in the area yourself, you can also experience this yourself during the enological experiences that people offer at Emina. Fully self-sufficient, innovative water management with reuse of water management.

The Emina Rosé comes from the (DO Cigales) and is a blend of Tempranillo, Verdejo, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Enima rosé is light pink and fresh, clean and clear in color. In the nose we smell a certain complexity because of the mix of red and white grape varieties coming from high altitude and cool vineyards located on a limestone terroir. In the nose we smell unmistakably stone fruit, such as peach, as well as light blackberry accents located between mineral tones and white flowers and has an excellent balance between the fresh acidity and the aromatic fruit. Enjoy this wine on the terrace and it is an excellent accompaniment to pasta, seafood or a delicious combination of both. It is also perfect for rice dishes and with pizza.

ABOUT GRUPPO MATARROMERA

Following the winemaking tradition of his Castilian ancestors, Carlos Moro made his dream come true and in 1988 founded the bodega Matarromera in Valbuena de Duero (Valladolid) with a clear goal in mind: the preparation of quality wines with the most advanced technology and thereby the take into account traditional preparation methods. The biggest challenge that Carlos Moro took was his choice of new barrels for maturing his wines, an initiative that was new in this region at the time. Another key to Matarromera's immediate success were the excellent vineyards in the middle of the "golden mile" of Ribera del Duero. Today, a quarter of a century later, Carlos Moro continues to design projects, and he continues to prepare more and more sophisticated wines. Matarromera's focus on quality wines comes from the vineyard itself. Thanks to the work started by Carlos Moro's ancestors, loving care for the vineyard has been a constant factor. No contagion in the Bodega but a good wine comes from a top vineyard.

At Grupo Matarromera, sustainability is very important and the Matarromera Group was chosen in 2007 by IESE [Institute of Higher Business Studies] as the most environmentally friendly organization in Spain. The winery is currently generating more energy than it uses. Every bodega of the Matarromera group is a sustainable building and designed to utilize natural lighting, to provide optimum insulation and to effectively use both rainwater and wastewater.
