The Emil Bauer & Söhne winery is a family business run by the fifth generation: Alexander and Martin Bauer. In picturesque Nußdorf in Rhineland-Palatinate, the best conditions for winegrowing can be found. The drastic improvements in the barrel cellar and the wine press have made the quality of the wines even better in recent years and that is why both winemakers were nominated 'Newcomer of the year' at the Falstaff. A large number of grape varieties are grown here, which is typical of the Palatinate. In addition to classics such as Riesling, Grauburgunder, Weißburgunder and Silvaner, there are also international varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. But all this is nothing compared to what the brothers have developed in the field of label design. The revolutionary 'Just Riesling' label is already a legend and the other provocative labels are just as successful; each label tells a part of the two brothers' lives, about what they are like and how they think. The Just Riesling series are also the high-end wines from Emil Bauer
All you need is riesling! Alexander and Martin Bauer not only understood this, but they summed it up clearly ... both in the design and in the wine! You don't need anything else! This Riesling is 2/3 raised on stainless steel and 1/3 on oak. In the glass, the No sex Just Riesling has a light yellow to green-yellow color with a bouquet of peach and Mediterranean fruit on the palate. This is a classic Riesling with a fruity, dry taste with fresh acidity. A delicious Riesling with a modern label. Recommended with seafood and veal.
Sex, Drugs & Rock & Roll. Just Riesling for me, thanks! Label reminds me of a sandwich board I once saw on the sidewalk of a butcher: ELEPHANT ON THE SPIT! With very little written below: we don't have, but we do have chicken. Well, if you do buy it, then you can quietly pour this Riesling by Emil Bauer with it. Also nice if you put what's left of the animal on a sandwich or salad the next day. Goes well with the sleek of this Pfalz. Lots of white fruit, mandarin and citrus and almost bone dry. If that butcher is good, the chicken is not, Harold Hamersma, rated in DGH 2018 with an 8.
Just Riesling for me, thanks! it says on the label. They are quite right, the good sons of Emil Bauer. Who also needs sex, drugs or rock 'n' roll with this crisp Riesling with a ringing start in the glass. Innocently pure, with a sweet sweet happy ending , Harold Hamersma, rated in DGH 2017 with an 8+.
Germans who label wines with tongue-in-cheek texts are scarce. The brothers Alexander and Martin Bauer do so without hesitation, as witnessed by their Just Riesling 2014 for me, thanks! Behind the smile is a very good Palatinate, graceful, clear-tasting, almost tingling, almost racy and with fresh citrus notes , Hubrecht Duijker
