Château Miraval was from 1970 by Jacques Loussier, jazz pianist and wine lover. He produced the Miraval rosé under the name Pink Floyd. A few years ago, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt rented Château Miraval for a period of three years. The Château has since been purchased by the Hollywood couple in 2008. The wine cellar dates from the early 19th century and was renovated in the 90s; the wooden barrels rest in the cellar of the original farmhouse (around 1300), which was completely renovated in 1995. The vineyards around the Château are set on a slope at a height of 350 meters, which makes the Miraval wines so elegant and refined. The rosé and the scarce white wine is the result of a collaboration between the Hollywood couple and the respected wine family Perrin.

Chateau Miraval is one of the few estates in Provence that has its own valley and has two parts namely the Coteaux Varois en Provence (north-west) and Côtes de Provence (in the east). The vineyard is planted on a slight slope (between 5% and 9%) on clay and limestone soils. The limestone / marl soil is known as Keuper marl. This special marl is particularly suitable for white grape varieties and this gives this Miraval Blanc the unique floral, mineral notes. The 2013 volume is one of the nicest volumes despite the long-cold winter and the wet spring. The grapes reached their perfect ripeness only, the 2013 vintage is characterized by a low yield.

The Miraval Blanc Cote de Provence is made 100% from the typical grape from the Provence-de Rolle. The Rolle grape is known in Italy as the Vermentino. The Chateau Miraval Blanc has a beautiful light yellow color with clear golden undertones. The nose is very open with rich aromas of white and tropical fruit such as fresh pineapple and mango. The minerality of the marl is clearly present here and this makes this Miraval a delightful fresh elegant wine. The balance between the minerality, the acids and the fruit makes this a unique sensation. The finale is rich in apricots and is lifted by roasted aromas. The Chateau Miraval Blanc is a blissful wine that will improve even further over the years and is the top model of Miraval which is made in a very small edition (this Blanc de Provence should not be confused with the cheaper Miraval Blanc Coteaux Varois). This Miraval Blanc can easily be used for years and will improve in the coming years. The Miraval Blanc Cote de Provence is an absolute gastronomic delight that works well as an aperitif but even better with Asian dishes and sushi and with delicious fresh fish and with a fruit-du-mer
