The vineyards for this wine are 350m above sea level, on a southern slope. The vines are 15-45 years old. The Sangiovese grapes are harvested in the first days of October. This "Riserva" is made only with the very best harvests and after a careful selection of the best grapes. The wine is visibly clear, brilliant, an intense ruby red color, with reflections of garnet. On the nose, the wine is Intense, full-bodied and ethereal, revealing the aromas of spices, forest soil, small red fruits and richly scented roses. A beautiful concentrated Brunello with a lot of elegance, a good acidity as a backbone. Rich in its fruit but with a nice spicy undertone. Incredibly complex and with a long finish. A real pleasure to drink!
This Riserva is only made in the top years. The 2012 is the successor to the 2008
Uncork the bottle at least 2 to 3 hours before serving. It is recommended to decant this wine so that the wine is well aerated.
Drink the Riserva with red meat, game, mushroom and truffle dishes. Also delicious with old cheeses, such as Parmigiano Reggiano and Tuscan Pecorino. An excellent wine for meditation.
