Fattoria Le Pupille Toscana Rosso Saffredi 2016 Magnum

A succession of gentle hills watching over the majestic contour of the Monte Amiata.

Its precisely from one of these soft and sensual hills that the story of Fattoria Le Pupille begins and leads it to how it is seen today: a heterogenous reality.

In the course of the years, the originating core of the winery effectively enriched itself of new grape particles, reaching today 75 hectares of vineyards, distributed like many mosaic pieces between many stunning areas of Maremma.

Another 20 hectares are destined to the olives, and then cereals and cork oaks alternate with pastures reaching up to 420 hectares of overall property.

Saffredi is born in 1987 from the vineyard planted around Magliano 7 years before, by Elisabettas mentor, Fredi, and his dear friend Giacomo Tachis.Fredi was never able to taste the fruits of his vineyard, for this Elisabetta decided to dedicate this wine to the grandfather of her daughters. After its release, Saffredi becomes very quickly the legend it still is today.Tasting Notes

Profile: impenetrable ruby red, a beautiful density in the glass. The scents go from red fruits, red currant, blackberries and spices such as cloves, cinnamon and chocolate. In the palate the wine is well-rounded and velvety, engaging all senses with majestic balance. The long persistence allows to fully enjoy the aromatic complexity, in which the spiciness is prevalent.

Best combined with: important plates, such as red meatsand game. It is also perfect with dark chocolate and in a
contemplating environment, such as whilst enjoying a cigar.
