This St Joseph from Cave de Tain has scooped a clutch of Medals and Trophies for the 2010 vintage. Made from 100% Syrah grown on granite soils the wine has a minerality and complexity balanced by ripe, rounded blackberry and spice fruits. Supple and well knit tannins provide good structure and length on the finish. Producer Details At the foot of the famous Hermitage hillside, the Cave de Tain l'Hermitage produces five appellation contrle wines, namely Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, St-Joseph, Cornas and St-Pray. The Cave de Tain l'Hermitage owns a 21 hectare domaine within the Hermitage appellation and the winemaker, Xavier Frouin supervises each stage of vinification, from grape reception, classified according to quality, right up to bottling.
