Drappiers Top Cuvee 'Grande Sendree' is so named after a parcel of land which was covered in cinders (cendree) after the graet fire of 1838 ir Urville. A spelling error on the land registry, brought about the change in spelling of the word Sendree. It is bottled in a replica of an 18 century bottle, from Urville. The 1996 vintage was an absloutely fabulous vintage, and although this Champagne is 17 years old is is remarkably fresh and vibrant. Before bottling each vintage of Sendree spends a minimum of 6 years on its lees, 32% of the wines are matured in oak barrels for 9months for added complexity.
